Job Summary

The Production Supervisor will provide training, coaching, and guidance to functional hourly associates to ensure the proper execution of daily work activities. This role is responsible for focusing on the current week, coordinating the application of performance tools and methodologies to enhance rapid, ongoing, measurable improvements, and overseeing Day-to-Day Production team Operations as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise Production: Effectively supervise production to achieve high productivity levels and maintain all quality standards.
  • Optimize Machine Performance: Monitor and optimize all machine operating speeds and ensure all production procedures are adhered to.
  • Minimize Downtime: Minimize unplanned downtime and lost production through constant monitoring of the line's performance and operating procedures.
  • Communicate Effectively: Effectively communicate (both verbally and written) all maintenance problems, yields, and breakage, and take corrective action when necessary.
  • Ensure Quality and Safety: Implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) rules and regulations, and maintain quality standards.
  • Develop and Train: Assist with the orientation of new employees and education and training of staff as requested, and develop worthwhile programs for regular staff meetings.
  • Monitor ISO Compliance: Monitor ISO compliance (9001, 14001, 22001, and 45001) and develop the team to meet requirements.

Qualifications and Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and Experience

  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Six months to one year's related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Physical Demands

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, drive, lift, push/pull, work on or near moving machinery, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, talk or hear, and taste or smell.
  • May have to push, pull, lift, reach overhead, work on or near moving machinery, or work on unprotected heights.
  • Occasionally required to squat, bend, stoop, twist, kneel, and/or climb.
  • Frequent use of Video Display Terminal (VDT), Keyboard, and Mouse.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 34 pounds.
