Key Responsibilities

As a Remote Professional Fee Coding Quality Reviewer, you will be responsible for reviewing medical records, coding, and abstracting accuracy performed by our coding team. Your primary duties will include:

  • Accessing and reviewing medical record documentation, coding, and abstracting accuracy using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding classification systems.
  • Conducting reviews of patient records via facility EMR, scanning technology, or other established methods.
  • Performing quality reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance with coding regulations and guidelines.
  • Identifying and reporting coding errors, inconsistencies, and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborating with the coding team to provide feedback and guidance on coding best practices.
  • Maintaining a high level of productivity while ensuring quality and accuracy in your work.
  • Staying up-to-date with changes in coding regulations, guidelines, and industry developments.
  • Performing other related job duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • One of the following coding credentials: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, CIC, or COC.
  • A minimum of 3 years of coding or review experience.
  • Advanced coding skills in ICD-10-CM and CPT.
  • Strong knowledge of governmental regulations relating to coding.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain a high level of productivity.
  • Strong working knowledge of Protected Health Information (PHI) and HIPAA compliance.
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in using various software applications.
  • US citizenship and ability to obtain NACI clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Military or federal medical coding or review experience.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary range for this position is $43,000-$64,500, depending on your experience and qualifications. In addition to competitive compensation, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that reflects our commitment to creating a diverse and supportive workplace.
