• Assess situations involving student safety and health-related issues, identifying problems, and referring for proper treatment and complying with legal requirements.
• Collaborate with agencies, school safety team members, and other stakeholders to conduct site assessments, identify issues, and provide recommendations for improving safety and accessibility.
• Develop and implement individualized student health care and emergency care plans, providing direction to site personnel and implementing directions from parents and physicians.
• Maintain accurate and confidential student health records, including health care plans, agency referrals, accident reports, and immunization records.
• Provide training on various health-related subjects, such as CPR, disaster preparedness, and medication management, to promote a healthy lifestyle and act as a resource to students, teachers, and staff.
• Refer students requiring additional medical attention, providing required follow-up treatment and services, and reporting health and safety issues to assigned administrators and agencies as needed.

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or a related field.
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Illinois.
• Illinois School Nurse licensure preferred.
• First Aid, CPR, AED, vision, and hearing certification.
• Experience working with children, preferably in a school setting.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, teachers, and staff.
• Strong technology skills, with proficiency in electronic health records and student management software.

Preferred Qualifications
