About the Role
We are seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our team in providing habilitation or rehabilitation occupational therapy services to clients in their residences. Under the direction of an Occupational Therapist, the successful candidate will perform all occupational therapy procedures planned and supervised by a qualified Occupational Therapist in accordance with the plan of care. Key Responsibilities
- Provide habilitation or rehabilitation occupational therapy services to clients in their residences under the direction of an Occupational Therapist
- Perform all occupational therapy procedures planned and supervised by a qualified Occupational Therapist in accordance with the plan of care
- Assist and instruct clients in pushing wheelchairs, supporting or lifting, positioning in and out of bed, and other activities of daily living
- Assist in specialized motor or self-help activities, construct supportive or assistive devices, and observe clients for signs of distress and adjust activities accordingly
- Participate in case conferences, staff meetings, and in-service programs as required
- Prepare clinical notes and progress reports and submit them for review by the Occupational Therapist to be incorporated into the client's clinical record
- Practice with respect for individual, cultural, and spiritual differences and consistently demonstrate competency with occupational therapy skills according to personal and legal scope of practice
- Evaluate the home environment and make appropriate recommendations, instruct clients, family, and other team members in proper use of assistive equipment, prosthetic devices, and adaptation devices
- Evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and modify accordingly, promote client/family autonomy, and relay significant changes in status to physicians and other members of the team in a timely manner
- Document client charts, records, clinical notes, etc., legibly and according to documentation guidelines and standards
Essential Qualifications
- Certified as an Occupational Therapy Assistant by the American Occupational Therapy Association
- One (1) year of experience as a COTA in any acute or post-acute setting
- Current valid license as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (in good standing) in the state(s) of practice
- Valid driver's license and automobile insurance

- Experience with EHR systems and their implementation/optimization in complex clinical settings
- Proficiency with federal, state, and governing agency regulations
- Participation in continued clinical and in-service education, as well as professional training required by law
- Knowledge and comfort level working with technology and enterprise-wide support systems and tools
- Successful management of a high volume of work, changing priorities as needed
- Appropriate judgment and critical thinking in decisions that require consideration of regulatory compliance, customer service, patient welfare, and company interests

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits
