As a Senior Data Analyst, you will play a critical role in driving business growth by leveraging data to inform strategic initiatives, build and maintain reporting dashboards, and ensure data accuracy and integrity.

Position Purpose

As a Senior Data Analyst within our Reporting and Analytics team, you will be responsible for leveraging data to interpret complex datasets, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to guide strategic initiatives. You will work both independently and collaboratively with peers to build and maintain reporting dashboards, ensure data accuracy, and maintain data integrity. Your expertise in data visualization tools and statistical methods will enable you to build and present clear and concise reports/analyses to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and Implement Reporting Standards and Best Practices: Establish and maintain reporting standards, guidelines, and best practices to ensure consistency and accuracy across the organization.
  • Architect and Implement a Reporting Framework: Design and implement a reporting framework that meets the organization's needs, including data visualization, reporting, and analytics.
  • Oversee Data Mining Efforts: Lead data mining efforts to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform business decisions.
  • Develop Programs, Methodologies, and Files for Analyzing and Presenting Data: Create programs, methodologies, and files for analyzing and presenting data to stakeholders, including reports, dashboards, and visualizations.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work with stakeholders, developers, UX designers, and end-users to determine requirements and ensure that reporting and analytics solutions meet business needs.
  • Data Analysis and SQL Script Development: Develop SQL scripts, stored procedures, and triggers to analyze and present data, and generate reports.
  • Data Cleansing and Validation: Perform data cleansing and validation to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Prepare Data Load Scripts: Prepare data load scripts for mass data load from various data sources.
  • Use of Varied Database Applications/Analytical Tools: Utilize various database applications and analytical tools, including Excel, JMP, SAS, Mathematica, SPSS, Tableau, and Power BI.
  • Enhancements/Modifications to Systems and Procedures: Recommend enhancements and modifications to systems and procedures to improve reporting and analytics capabilities.

Requirements and Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, Finance, or a related quantitative field.
  • Work Experience: 7+ years of work experience in data analysis, statistical analysis, auditing, and/or forecasting.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL, Excel, and experience with data visualization platforms such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Work Experience: 3+ years of work experience with intermediary understanding of SQL Server, Google BigQuery, or comparable database systems.
  • Industry Experience: Prior direct experience in analyzing the relevant subject matter (e.g., Call Centers, Retail Operations, Supply Chain, etc.).
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in data analysis, statistics, or a related field.
