As an Ultrasound Technologist on one of our flagship travel assignments, you will be at the heart of this mission, providing critical diagnostic imaging services to patients in beautiful coastal Massachusetts while enjoying a supportive, technology‑driven work environment that values growth, flexibility, and recognition.

Position Overview

We are urgently seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist for a 13‑week travel contract in Falmouth, Massachusetts. This role offers a competitive weekly salary of $2,303 (gross), broken down into $1,612 in direct wages and a $691 stipend for housing and other travel‑related expenses. The assignment begins on December 9 and consists of 8‑hour shifts, five days a week, providing a predictable schedule that supports work‑life balance.

Because this is a travel assignment, you must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel rate. In return, you’ll receive a suite of benefits designed to keep you healthy, financially secure, and motivated throughout the contract.

  • Diagnostic Imaging: Perform high‑quality abdominal, obstetric, gynecologic, vascular, and musculoskeletal ultrasound examinations in accordance with established protocols and physician requests.
  • Patient Interaction: Greet patients warmly, explain procedures clearly, obtain accurate medical histories, and ensure patient comfort and safety during all imaging sessions.
  • Image Acquisition & Documentation: Capture optimal images, adjust settings for each patient’s anatomy, and accurately document findings in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct routine equipment checks, calibrate transducers, and report any technical issues to biomedical engineering promptly.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals to interpret results, discuss imaging findings, and facilitate timely patient care decisions.
  • Compliance & Safety: Adhere to infection control standards, radiation safety (when applicable), and state/federal regulations governing diagnostic imaging.
  • Continuing Education: Participate in on‑site training sessions, webinars, and industry conferences to stay current with emerging ultrasound technologies and best practices.

Essential Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of full‑time clinical experience as a Certified Ultrasound Technologist, performing a wide range of examinations in a hospital or outpatient setting.
  • Certification: Current American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) credentials (e.g., RDMS, RVT) or equivalent national certification; state licensure where required.
  • Life Support: Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, with the ability to respond confidently in emergency situations.
  • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated mastery of major ultrasound platforms (e.g., GE LOGIQ, Philips iU22, Siemens Acuson) and familiarity with PACS and RIS integration.
  • Professionalism: Strong communication skills, a patient‑centered approach, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Travel Eligibility: Willingness and ability to relocate temporarily for the duration of the assignment; meet the minimum 60‑mile distance requirement for travel rate eligibility.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

  • Advanced certifications such as RDCS (Cardiac Sonography) or RVT (Vascular Technology).
  • Experience in a travel or float pool environment, demonstrating adaptability to varied clinical settings.
  • Familiarity with tele‑ultrasound platforms or remote imaging review tools.
  • Additional language proficiency (e.g., Spanish) to enhance communication with diverse patient populations.
  • Demonstrated involvement in quality improvement initiatives or peer‑review committees.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to assess complex patient anatomy quickly and adjust imaging techniques to obtain diagnostic-quality images.
  • Attention to Detail: Precise documentation and strict adherence to protocol, ensuring accurate and reproducible results.
  • Time Management: Efficiently manage a full caseload while balancing high‑volume demands and urgent examinations.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Empathy and clear communication to alleviate patient anxiety and foster collaborative teamwork.
