About the Role: Senior Sales Strategy Analyst (Remote)

United’s Sales division is the powerhouse that fuels the airline’s profitability, partnering with travel agencies, corporate clients, and internal business units to create mutually beneficial relationships. As a Senior Sales Strategy Analyst, you will be a key architect of the analytical frameworks that guide strategic decisions across revenue streams, channel partnerships, and market positioning. You will work closely with senior leaders, channel teams, and cross‑functional partners such as Network Planning, Marketing & Customer Innovation (MCI), Loyalty, and Revenue Management to translate complex data into actionable insights that shape United’s future growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Revenue Performance Analysis
    • Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models that evaluate ROI of incentive programs, pricing initiatives, and promotional campaigns.
    • Conduct deep‑dive analyses of revenue trends across multiple channels (direct, travel agencies, corporate, ancillary services) and passenger segments.
    • Present clear, data‑driven recommendations to senior executives to optimize price elasticity and capacity allocation.
  • Data Management & Insight Generation
    • Extract, clean, and synthesize large data sets from internal databases (e.g., SQL repositories, revenue management systems) and external market sources.
    • Deliver concise, visual dashboards that highlight key performance indicators, market shifts, and competitive benchmarks.
    • Collaborate with the Business Intelligence team to enhance data pipelines and ensure data integrity.
  • Portfolio Governance
    • Own an assigned portfolio of commercial and channel agreements, monitoring performance against contractual targets.
    • Provide actionable intelligence to front‑line sales teams and external partners, driving continuous improvement in revenue outcomes.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration
    • Partner with Network Planning to align route profitability with strategic channel initiatives.
    • Work alongside Marketing & Customer Innovation to assess the impact of loyalty programs, digital campaigns, and new product launches.
    • Support Revenue Management by integrating pricing strategies with channel‑specific insights.
  • Strategic Presentations & Reporting
    • Prepare and deliver comprehensive performance reports for cross‑functional leadership meetings.
    • Translate complex analytical findings into compelling stories that resonate with both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Essential (Minimum) Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 2–4 years of hands‑on analytical experience within the airline industry or a comparable B2B environment, focusing on revenue, sales, marketing, or operations strategy.
  • Solid understanding of airline revenue drivers, including ticket pricing, ancillary revenue, corporate contracts, and distribution channel dynamics.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet tight deadlines, and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating insights to senior revenue managers, business leaders, and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience designing analytical approaches to identify key variables that influence business objectives.
  • Ability to quickly assimilate new concepts, tools, and industry trends.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship.

Preferred (Nice‑to‑Have) Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Analytics, or a related discipline.
  • Cross‑functional experience influencing sales performance across multiple airline departments (e.g., Network Planning, Loyalty, Revenue Management).
  • Familiarity with United’s internal revenue data sources and reporting platforms.
  • Advanced data‑visualization expertise using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
  • Strong SQL proficiency for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Experience with statistical programming languages (R, Python) or advanced Excel modelling.
