Employment Paralegal – Discovery Response Team About EsquireTek: EsquireTek (ETEK) is a pioneering legal technology company revolutionizing the discovery process for law firms. Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Employment Paralegal to join our Discovery Response Team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in employment law matters, including wage and hour, discrimination, retaliation, harassment, and wrongful termination cases. You will collaborate directly with our lawyer-customers to prepare discovery responses and train our proprietary AI discovery response system. This position offers the unique chance to apply your employment law expertise while contributing to the advancement of cutting-edge legal technology. Key Responsibilities: • Draft, review, and refine discovery responses specific to employment law cases, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with legal standards. • Collaborate with in-house AI systems to generate first-draft discovery responses tailored to employment litigation. • Communicate with lawyer-customers’ clients to gather necessary employment-related information (e.g., personnel files, payroll records, workplace policies). • Work closely with our Director of Quality Assurance to uphold high-quality standards. • Provide legal insights and feedback that contribute to the continued improvement of our AI systems. • Manage multiple employment litigation cases simultaneously, ensuring timely completion of discovery responses. • Stay current on best practices and changes in employment law discovery procedures. Qualifications: • Associate’s, bachelor’s degree, and/or paralegal certificate (or equivalent work experience). • 3–5 years of experience as a paralegal in employment law, with direct exposure to discovery processes. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and willingness to learn new technologies. • Solid understanding of legal terminology and procedures, particularly in the employment litigation space. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Preferred Qualifications: • Paralegal certification. • Familiarity with personal injury or other civil litigation areas is a plus.
