We are committed to closing the achievement gap and ensuring that our students have the skills, knowledge, and confidence to succeed in college and beyond. **Job Description** As a High School World Language Teacher at KIPP New Jersey, you will play a critical role in shaping the educational experience of our students. You will be responsible for creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic excellence, social-emotional growth, and character development. Your role will include: * **Creating and Implementing Lesson Plans**: Develop and implement engaging and challenging lesson plans that meet the academic needs of our students. Work closely with the grade-level team to ensure that lesson plans are aligned with the academic curriculum. * **Teaching to Mastery**: Use data to responsively teach to mastery of academic skills. Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to ensure that all students meet the learning objectives. * **Classroom Management**: Reinforce a firm foundation for all classes and uphold classroom management techniques that promote a positive and productive learning environment. * **Collaboration and Communication**: Work closely with students, families, and colleagues to create an environment that is supportive of student progress. Participate in school, departmental, and parent meetings to ensure that all stakeholders are informed and engaged. * **Professional Development**: Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching skills and stay up-to-date on best practices in education. **Qualifications** To be considered for this role, you must have: * **Bachelor's Degree**: A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university (Official transcripts showing degree conferred are required prior to the starting date of employment). * **Teaching Certification**: Appropriate state teaching certification completed and issued or in process of being completed. * **Subject Matter Expertise**: Subject matter expertise in Spanish or other foreign languages. * **Teaching Experience**: A minimum of two years of teaching experience, with demonstrated interest in working with students from diverse economic and cultural backgrounds. * **Collaborative Attitude**: A collaborative attitude towards teaching and learning, with a strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration. **Nice to Haves** * **Exceptional Student Achievement**: A record of exceptional student achievement and results at a high-performing charter network/charter management organization. * **Education Reform**: A belief that all students deserve a world-class education, which can be achieved through education reform. **Compensation and Benefits** In addition to a competitive salary, KIPP New Jersey offers a full comprehensive benefits plan, including: * **Health Care**: Comprehensive health care coverage for you and your family. * **Retirement**: A 403(b) retirement plan with a 10% employer match. * **School Laptop**: A school laptop for personal and professional use. * **Transportation Benefits**: Transportation benefits for TEAMmates commuting into New Jersey from the Philadelphia area. * **Performance-Based Pay**: Opportunities for earning up to $5,500 annually in performance-based pay. **Salary Range** The salary range for this role is $63,000-$101,000+, with additional opportunities for earning up to $5,500 annually in performance-based pay. **Location** This role is based in Camden, NJ, with the opportunity to work remotely or from our Remote hub. **How to Apply** If you are a passionate and dedicated educator with a love for teaching world languages, we want to hear from you!
