About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Data Entry Specialist to join our team at blithequark. As a Data Entry Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of sports information distributed across our platforms. You will work closely with our production team to deliver high-quality data that powers our digital and television products. Key Responsibilities

  • Guarantee the accuracy, timeliness, and relevance of sports information distributed by blithequark's Data and Analytics team.
  • Work independently and collaboratively to deliver accurate and detailed data, including scores, schedules, standings, and statistics, to power our digital and television products.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of blithequark's role in fueling our digital and television products.
  • Verify the accuracy of your own work and that of others, performing with a consistently high level of attention to detail.
  • Contribute to production, projects, and initiatives across the newsroom, and support newsroom leaders in coordinating full-time and part-time staff.
  • Anticipate potential issues, both short-term and long-term, and propose likely solutions. Communicate promptly and clearly with stakeholders on these issues.
  • Play a proactive role in collaborating with colleagues to develop or refine production processes.
  • Be an active participant in team and department meetings.
  • Seek and respond to feedback regarding individual performance.
  • Stay informed about current office policies and procedures.

Essential Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of teams, players, and the rules of various sports.
  • Full schedule availability, which will include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to quickly learn production processes that produce or maintain sports information that powers blithequark's digital and television products.
  • Ability to achieve a high level of content accuracy in time-sensitive production environments.
  • Ability to communicate confidently, both verbally and in writing, to production managers and colleagues about production issues and opportunities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience working in sports or statistics, ideally in media.
  • Knowledge of how sports information is used in media and for research purposes.
  • Working knowledge of blithequark's products and productions.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and other Office products.
  • Experience leading or mentoring a team.
  • Ability to speak and write Spanish.
  • Experience using social media in a business or news environment.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.
