Job Responsibilities and Expectations

In this role, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale web applications using J2EE technologies. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Leading moderately complex projects and initiatives within technical space conditions
  • Contributing to the large-scale planning of strategies and technical solutions
  • Designing, coding, testing, debugging, and documenting projects and initiatives related to technology space, including updates and deployments
  • Resolving moderately complex technical issues and leading a team to meet existing client needs or potential new clients' needs while utilizing a strong understanding of the capability, strategies, systems, or compliance requirements
  • Collaborating and communicating with peers, stakeholders, and mid-level managers to resolve technical challenges and achieve objectives
  • Leading projects and acting as an escalation point, providing guidance and direction to less experienced staff

Essential Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • 4+ years of computer programming experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Experience in leading scrum team delivery of complex projects
  • Proficiency in Core Java technology
  • Ability to write and optimize complex stored procedures and SQL queries on Oracle and DB2 platforms
  • Experience in writing J2EE application components
  • Proficiency in XML and JSON technologies
  • Ability to create/code J2EE applications that interact with Oracle
  • Experience in development and execution of SOAP and RESTful web services
  • Knowledge of Spring Boot and Spring Framework technologies
  • Experience in integrating applications with Kafka and Kinesis streaming platforms
  • Ability to develop using Java Messaging Services APIs and MQ middleware
  • Experience in configuration/deployment of application code on Tomcat
  • Experience in build and deployment of J2EE application components using Gradle, Jenkins, and uDeploy tools
  • Experience with GitHub source code repository
  • Experience with JIRA board (story writing, sprint planning/execution, backlog refinement, release management)

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

While not required, the following qualifications and skills are preferred:

  • BS/BA degree or higher in science or technology
  • Experience writing jobs using AWK and Unix shell script
  • Experience in development and integration of components with FICO Hawk risk scoring platform or other risk scoring platforms
  • Experience in configuration/deployment of application code on WebSphere platforms
  • Experience in creating/coding J2EE applications that interact with MongoDB databases
  • Experience in performance tuning of application components running on WebSphere or MongoDB
  • Experience in migration and deployment of applications in the cloud
  • Experience in design and integration of applications with Splunk tool
  • Domain knowledge of risk screening and fraud management of Charge and Store transactions
