About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Ramp Agent and Fleet Service Agent to join our ground operations team. As a Ramp Agent, you will be responsible for managing equipment on and off planes, transporting items between terminals and planes, and receiving, delivering, weighing, and documenting shipments in a cargo-specific facility or loading dock area. Key Responsibilities
Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:
- Guiding aircraft through the use of status and maintaining wands at or above shoulder height
 - Operating equipment to perform aircraft movements
 - Arriving at the gate in advance of aircraft arrival and participating in pre-arrival briefings
 - Chocking aircraft wheels and positioning safety cones around the aircraft
 - Operating equipment, such as air-start devices and conveyors, by the aircraft
 - Connecting ground power, pre-conditioned air, and air-start devices
 - Carrying out exterior restroom servicing and servicing aircraft potable water
 - Transferring baggage and cargo to and from belts, carts, luggage devices, and containers
 - Pulling tug and cart to specific aircraft and drop-off areas
 - Opening and closing the cargo door of the aircraft and entering and exiting the cargo compartment of the aircraft
 - Removing bags and cargo from the aircraft cargo compartment and checking bags and cargo
 - Loading bags and cargo in the aircraft cargo compartment according to weight and balance specifications
 - Disconnecting ground power, pre-conditioned air, and air-start devices and ensuring all equipment is removed from the safety envelope before pushback
 - Removing chocks from aircraft wheels and performing pre-departure and post-arrival aircraft walk-around
 - Checking aircraft pre- and post-flight documents and reporting any aircraft damage to team leaders, supervisors, pilots, and/or maintenance
 
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- A high school diploma or GED or international equivalent
 - Be at least 18 years of age or older
 - The ability to lift, load, unload, and transport baggage and cargo to/from aircraft, bag carts, and conveyor belts
 - Basic computer skills and knowledge of how to use them
 - People-oriented and highly motivated, with a positive and cooperative attitude
 - Excellent communication skills
 - A valid driver's license as required by local government
 - The ability to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges, if applicable
 - The completion of a pre-employment drug screen, comprehensive background check, and/or fingerprinting to meet company and security requirements
 - The ability to obtain jet bridge certification
 - The ability to pass the United States Postal Service background check
 
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Previous experience working in a similar role, such as a ramp agent or fleet service agent
 - Knowledge of aircraft handling and safety procedures
 - Experience working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
 - Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
 - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
 - Ability to work effectively in a team environment
