Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Remote Construction Field Representative – Facility Asset Management to lead the on‑site implementation of construction projects across Disney’s resort and facility portfolio. This role operates on a third‑shift schedule, ensuring that critical project milestones are met while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and Disney‑specific compliance. Reporting directly to the Program Field Representative, you will serve as the pivotal link between project managers, contractors, subcontractors, and government agencies, translating strategic plans into tangible results on the ground.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safety Leadership: Partner with the Walt Disney World Safety team to develop, communicate, and enforce the project safety plan, ensuring a zero‑incident work environment.
  • Constructability & Value Engineering: Conduct thorough constructability analyses, offering proactive value‑engineering suggestions that optimize cost, schedule, and quality.
  • Contractor Compliance: Verify that all contractors and manufacturers adhere to contract drawings, specifications, applicable codes, and Disney’s stringent standards.
  • Site Logistics Planning: Design and continuously refine site logistics plans—including staging areas, material flow, and traffic management—to maximize efficiency and minimize disruption.
  • Regular Site Walk‑Throughs: Perform daily inspections, documenting progress, identifying deficiencies, and driving corrective actions.
  • Schedule Monitoring & Recovery: Track the critical path, flag potential delays, and develop recovery strategies to keep the project on schedule.
  • Daily Reporting: Produce concise, accurate daily reports summarizing contractor activities, personnel counts, equipment usage, and progress metrics.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Lead and participate in pre‑construction, weekly coordination, safety, operations, and on‑site meetings with internal teams, the Reedy Creek Improvement District, and external partners.
  • Documentation & Records Management: Maintain organized records of permits, inspection reports, change orders, and as‑built documentation for future asset management.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify process improvements, share best practices across projects, and mentor junior field staff on Disney’s best‑in‑class construction methodologies.

Essential Qualifications

  • Deep understanding of construction activities, project life‑cycle phases, and the nuances of construction contracting within large‑scale commercial facilities.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural and engineering drawings, technical specifications, and contract documents; ability to spot potential issues and articulate their impact on schedule and budget.
  • Minimum of 2 + years of hands‑on experience on complex construction sites, preferably within the hospitality, entertainment, or resort sectors.
  • Demonstrated success collaborating with contractors, sub‑contractors, and consultants to deliver projects that meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Willingness and ability to work third‑shift hours, ensuring project continuity and timely issue resolution.
  • Strong communication skills—both verbal and written—and the capacity to convey technical information to diverse audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of a relevant internship or co‑op program in construction management, civil engineering, architecture, or a related discipline.
  • Additional 1‑2 years of experience specifically within the commercial facilities construction industry, especially for hospitality or theme‑park environments.
  • Certification such as OSHA 30‑hour, CPM (Construction Project Management), or LEED Green Associate to demonstrate commitment to safety and sustainability.
  • Familiarity with Disney’s proprietary project management tools and digital reporting platforms.

Core Skills & Competencies for Success

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to dissect complex construction plans, assess risk, and develop actionable solutions.
  • Problem Solving: Proactive mindset for identifying issues before they become obstacles, with a track record of innovative resolution.
  • Leadership & Influence: Command respect on‑site, guiding diverse teams toward common goals while fostering a collaborative atmosphere.
  • Detail Orientation: Meticulous attention to specifications, code requirements, and Disney standards to assure flawless execution.
  • Time Management: Skillful juggling of multiple tasks, meeting tight deadlines, and maintaining high productivity during third‑shift hours.
  • Technological Proficiency: Comfortable with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6), Microsoft Office Suite, and digital field reporting tools.
  • Interpersonal Communication: Strong ability to negotiate, influence, and build rapport with contractors, officials, and internal stakeholders.

  • Regional Asset Management Specialist

In addition to on‑the‑job learning, you will have access to Disney’s extensive training catalog, mentorship programs, tuition assistance for relevant certifications, and attendance at industry conferences—all designed to accelerate your professional development.
