Position Overview

The Remote Solutions Architect – People Technology will act as a strategic bridge between business objectives and technical execution. Working fully remotely, you will partner with senior leaders, product managers, data engineers, and cross‑functional stakeholders to design, implement, and evolve the technology solutions that power DoorDash’s People (HR) platform. This role blends architecture, project leadership, data‑driven insight, and hands‑on implementation, ensuring the People ecosystem is scalable, secure, and future‑ready.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Architecture: Define, document, and evolve the end‑to‑end People technology architecture, aligning it with DoorDash’s long‑term business strategy.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner with senior leadership, product owners, data scientists, and engineering teams to gather requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and drive consensus across the organization.
  • Solution Design & Implementation: Lead the design and rollout of data pipelines, analytics platforms, and HR‑focused applications, ensuring high performance, reliability, and security.

Essential Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 2 + years as a program manager or solutions architect within a technology‑focused environment, preferably in the People/HR domain.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related quantitative field. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
  • People Data Expertise: Strong understanding of HR data concepts, including security, privacy, and compliance considerations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, EEOC).
  • Data Engineering Skills: Hands‑on experience with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake or Amazon Redshift, and proficiency building complex data pipelines using tools like Databricks, AWS Glue, or Apache Airflow.
  • Cloud Proficiency: Familiarity with AWS services (e.g., S3, Lambda, EC2, IAM) and modern infrastructure‑as‑code practices.
  • Tool Mastery: Experience with HR technology platforms (e.g., Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, BambooHR) and ability to integrate them with custom solutions.
  • Problem‑Solving Acumen: Proven ability to uncover hidden business challenges, translate them into technical specifications, and deliver scalable solutions.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication, capable of presenting complex technical ideas to non‑technical audiences.
  • Leadership Qualities: Demonstrated track record of leading cross‑functional initiatives, influencing decision‑makers, and driving consensus.
