Job Overview
We are excited to announce an exceptional opportunity for a skilled and dedicated Mathematics Instructor to teach a range of mathematics courses, from basic math through calculus, including probability and statistics, discrete mathematics, and contemporary mathematics. This position offers the flexibility of remote work, as well as on-site teaching at various locations in Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester Counties, including TTC satellite campuses and high school campuses. Key Responsibilities
- Teach mathematics courses, utilizing a variety of teaching methods and technologies to engage students and promote academic excellence
- Design and develop curriculum, ensuring that courses are systematically planned, delivered, and evaluated to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Evaluate student performance, providing constructive feedback and academic advising to support student success and progression
- Maintain posted office hours, providing individualized support and guidance to students as needed
- Plan and revise curriculum, staying up-to-date with developments in mathematics education and incorporating innovative teaching methods and technologies
- Collaborate with colleagues, participating in departmental meetings and contributing to the development of mathematics programs and courses
- Utilize technology in instruction, leveraging digital tools and resources to enhance teaching and learning
- Teach varying schedules, including nights, at a variety of locations, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in response to changing needs and circumstances
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must possess a master's degree in mathematics or a master's degree with 18 graduate hours in mathematics (education courses are excluded). Additionally, you should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and community partners. A strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion is essential, as well as a willingness to teach levels of mathematics ranging from basic math through calculus, including probability and statistics, discrete mathematics, and contemporary mathematics.
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, two years of teaching experience at the community college level is highly preferred, demonstrating a strong understanding of the needs and challenges of community college students. Experience with curriculum development, academic advising, and student assessment is also desirable, as well as a willingness to travel to locations in Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester Counties, including TTC satellite campuses and high school campuses.
