As a Customer Service Representative at blithequark, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks that are essential to the smooth operation of our store. These duties include:

  • Operating all equipment safely and efficiently to minimize downtime and ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Stocking ingredients from the delivery area to storage, work areas, and the walk-in cooler, maintaining a clean and organized environment.
  • Preparing products to the highest standards of quality and presentation, adhering to blithequark's recipes and guidelines.
  • Receiving and processing telephone orders accurately and promptly, providing excellent customer service and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Taking inventory and completing associated paperwork, ensuring that all stock levels are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Cleaning equipment and facilities approximately daily, maintaining a clean and safe working environment for colleagues and customers alike.

Essential Functions and Skills

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a range of essential functions and skills, including:

  • The ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions, ensuring that all tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, allowing you to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues in person, over the phone, and in writing.
  • Basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly, with or without the use of a calculator.
  • The ability to make correct monetary change, handling cash and credit transactions with precision and accuracy.
  • Strong verbal, writing, and telephone skills, enabling you to take and process orders efficiently and effectively.
  • Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers, allowing you to make precise movements with speed and accuracy.
  • The ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

As a Customer Service Representative at blithequark, you will be working in a fast-paced environment that requires flexibility and adaptability. You may be exposed to:

  • Varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions when removing trash and performing other outside tasks.
  • In-store temperatures ranging from 36 degrees in the cooler to 90 degrees and above in some work areas.
  • Sudden changes in temperature in the work area and while outside.
  • Fumes from food odors and exposure to cornmeal dust.
  • Cramped quarters, including the walk-in cooler.
  • Hot surfaces and tools from the oven, which can reach temperatures of up to 500 degrees or higher.
  • Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts, requiring caution and attention to safety protocols.

Qualifications and Requirements
