The Walt Disney Company is looking for an experienced Metadata Specialist to join our team. We’re looking for a highly motivated individual with an eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and great organizational skills. The ideal candidate for this role should be highly knowledgeable in metadata standards, have an understanding of metadata principles, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. If you’re an outstanding communicator, have a passion for metadata, and possess the required qualifications, then this could be the perfect job for you!Required Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree in Library Science, Information Science, or a related field- At least two years of professional experience working with metadata management and/or cataloging- Proficiency in the use of library and metadata standards such as MARC, AACR2, RDA, Dublin Core, LCSH, etc.- Knowledge of metadata principles and best practices- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills- Strong organizational and time management skills- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment Responsibilities: Develop and maintain metadata standards in accordance with industry best practices. Design and implement metadata solutions and strategies to support the organization’s information management needs. Catalog and curate content, ensuring accuracy and consistency of metadata elements. Monitor and manage metadata quality assurance activities. Ensure all metadata is compliant with industry standards and best practices. Analyze existing metadata standards and provide recommendations for improvement. Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and other stakeholders. Train and mentor staff on metadata standards and principles. Research and stay abreast of new technologies and trends in metadata management. Provide technical support for metadata related projects.
