As a senior trading associate you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Equity and Options Trading Operations team. This includes building scalable infrastructure and procedures and nurturing/supporting a strong work ethic from yourself and others in-line with Alpaca’s core values of Curiosity, Global Empathy, and Accountability.
• Create and improve upon a world class execution platform
• Assist in the Firm’s Best-Execution Program by reviewing post-trade exception reports.
• Review Trade Surveillance reports and take appropriate action to resolve alerts
• Monitor order flow for irregularities
• Timely resolution of client trade escalations
• Create/update policies and procedures as needed
• Reconciliation of firm error and inventory accounts
• Risk monitoring/trading of firm held positions
• Maintain firm GTC order book
• Create and drive new initiatives
• Assist the Director of Trading Operations in the execution of firm objective
Ad Hoc duties and responsibilities as assigned
• FINRA Licences:
• Series 7
• Series 57
• Series 24
• Series 63
• Series 4 (able to get in 6 months)
• Experience with both front and back end processes for trading lifecycle (Equity and Options)
• Experience in SQL (willingness to learn)
• Experience creating and maintaining relationships with executing counterparties
• Experience with order quality evaluations including execution and market manipulation testing
• A leader that has a track record of successful team building and creating growth opportunities for their team members
• Prior experience with Financial or FINTech startups
• Prior experience working with international clients
