About the position

The Medical Assistant at Evernorth Health Services plays a vital role in supporting healthcare providers by assisting with patient examinations and treatments. Responsibilities
?? Greet and check in patients by verifying coverage and eligibility and completing appropriate paperwork.

?? Obtain patient history and take vital signs.

?? Assist with coordination of care and administer medications.

?? Prepare examination rooms and clean/sterilize instruments per protocol.
,
?? Answer telephone calls in compliance with departmental procedures and route calls appropriately.
,
?? Schedule appointments and verify membership according to various benefit coverage.
,
?? Review preprinted instruction sheets with patients.
,
?? Attend department staff meetings and in-service programs.
,
?? Cross-train to new procedures and departments.
,
?? Assist in orienting new employees and temporary staff to job responsibilities.

Requirements
?? Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program or on-the-job training with the ability to obtain CCMA certification.

?? Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
,
?? At least 1 year of front and back office experience.
,
?? Phlebotomy skills are required.
,
?? Solid computer skills, including experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR).

?? Excellent customer service skills are required.
,
?? Team-oriented with strong time management skills.
,
?? Responsible and reliable with the ability to work clinic hours and locations.
