Firmware Embedded Software Engineer

Salary Range: $90,000 - $175,000

In-Depth Engineering Corporation is seeking dedicated and innovative firmware engineers. This position offers the opportunity to perform research, design, development, and testing of complex electrical designs including documentation development, hands-on test and troubleshooting, and formal documentation of the electrical design. As a Firmware Engineer, you will develop technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.

The work is performed on-site at our customer site in Syracuse, NY. Work schedule - Flex 4/10 Schedule or Flex 9/80 w/every other Friday off - or a straight 5/8.

Qualified candidates must have an active DoD Secret Level Security Clearance.

Key Responsibilities:

Selecting and designing Electronic IO assemblies including requirements review, component selection, creation of design packages, and generation for test procedures.

Working with either Intel(Quartus) and/or AMD(Vivado) building tools

VHDL/Verilog code development and simulation will be the primary task in this role

Responsible for supporting the design development through the release cycle

The programs require broad electrical support, including issue resolution to distributed I/O architectures, remote test station equipment and power distribution systems

Work across disciplines during integration and test activities is required

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline

Minimum of 4 years of professional experience

Knowledge of VHDL and firmware board support packaging development

Experience with Intel (Quartus) or AMD (Vivado) tools

Experience with efficient chip build planning, clock domain mapping, and timing closure optimization

VHDL code development Verilog knowledge a plus

Experience with creating and maintaining component and chip level VHDL/Verilog simulations

Ability to support shift hours (8) and weekends

Must be a US citizen with an active SECRET clearance
