About the position

The IT Security Specialist role at Medical Mutual involves the day-to-day operation of security functions related to policy administration, project management, physical security, and audit liaison. The position is available at three levels (I, II, III), each with increasing complexity and responsibility. The specialists are responsible for monitoring security events, responding to cyber incidents, managing security tickets, and supporting security applications and technologies. The role requires collaboration with various teams to ensure compliance with security policies and procedures, and it offers opportunities for career development within a supportive work environment.

Responsibilities
? Monitor security events and provide technical analysis on alerts.

? Respond to cyber security incidents by executing the incident response strategy through incident closure.
,
? Manage security event analysis.
,
? Assist with maintaining security policies, processes, and incident response procedures.
,
? Gather security metrics collected from security tools.
,
? Support and administer security applications and implementations of technologies used to support security operations and incident response.
,
? Support business by managing security tickets in accordance with SLA.
,
? Provide direction to the SecOps organization.
,
? Ability to work flexible hours and be on call for potential security incidents.
,
? Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
? Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
,
? 1-5 years of relevant IT experience depending on the level (I, II, III).
,
? Basic to intermediate understanding of current technical architecture including server, network, and application firewall.
,
? Experience utilizing SIEM tools to perform log reviews preferred.
,
? Fundamental understanding of security incident response, including triage and coordinating across teams to drive incidents to closure preferred.
,
? Knowledge of NIST and CIS practices and frameworks preferred.

Nice-to-haves
? Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) preferred.
,
? Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) preferred.
,
? Strong problem-solving skills, adaptable, proactive, and willing to take ownership preferred.
