As an Insurance Property Adjuster Specialist at USAA, you will play a crucial role in investigating, evaluating, negotiating, and settling complex property insurance claims for military members and their families. This position emphasizes a virtual-first approach to claims handling, utilizing technology for inspections while also requiring fieldwork within the North Dallas area. You will ensure compliance with state regulations and work collaboratively with vendors and internal partners to resolve claims effectively.
Responsibilities
? Proactively manage assigned claims caseload of complex damages requiring knowledge of claims coverage and legal liability.

? Partner with vendors and internal business partners to facilitate complex claims resolution.

? Investigate claim damages through research from various sources, including insured parties and third parties.
,
? Identify and resolve discrepancies and subrogation potential from unusual characteristics.

? Determine coverage through analysis of complex policy terms and contingencies.
,
? Negotiate complex claims settlements within authority limits and collaborate with management for settlements outside authority limits.

? Maintain accurate and thorough claim file documentation throughout the claims process.

? Utilize estimating technology platforms and virtual inspection tools to prepare claims estimates.

? Support workload surges and catastrophe response operations, including on-call duties and potential travel.

? Work independently to solve complex problems and act as a resource for less experienced colleagues.
Requirements
? High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma.
,
? 2 years of relevant property claims adjusting experience with moderate complexity losses.
,
? Advanced knowledge of estimating losses using Xactimate or similar tools.
,
? Proficient knowledge of residential construction and property claims contracts.
,
? Strong negotiation, investigation, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
,
? Proven investigatory, analytical, prioritizing, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills.

? Ability to travel 50-75% of the year and work catastrophe duty when needed.

? Acquisition and maintenance of insurance adjuster license within 90 days.
Nice-to-haves
? US Military service or a Military spouse/domestic partner.

? Prior experience handling higher severity/complex losses.

? Experience adjusting property claims using virtual technologies.

? Prior property field adjuster experience handling DWG, APS, and ALE adjustments.

? Industry designations such as AINS, CPCU, AIC, SCLA (or actively pursuing).

? Xactimate Level 1 and/or Level 2 certification.

? Prior deployments in support of catastrophes.

? Currently hold an active Adjuster License.
