Insurance Claims Adjuster - Investigator
Posted 2025-04-22About the position
Norfield Associates, Inc. is a third-party, independent adjusting firm that specializes in investigating liability claims for insurance companies. The claims handled by the firm can vary widely, including incidents such as trips and falls, slips and falls, dog bites, liquor liability claims, and automobile accidents. As an Insurance Investigator, your primary responsibility will be to contact and meet with individuals involved in these incidents to obtain their recorded statements, which detail their recollections of the events leading to the claims. This role requires you to gather comprehensive evidence, including photographs of the accident locations, police reports, and witness statements, to provide a thorough analysis of the claims and assist the insurance company in determining fault. In this position, you will be expected to conduct timely and detailed investigations, ensuring that all relevant information is collected to complete a full evaluation of the claim's liability. This includes fact gathering and analysis, obtaining in-person recorded statements, and visiting accident locations to take photographs, measurements, and conduct canvasses for surveillance cameras and potential witnesses. You will also be responsible for performing internet and database research to gather additional information, as well as collecting reports from police, fire departments, and town halls. Detailed documentation of all findings and developments in the case file is crucial to your role. Your workdays will be a mix of being on the road for appointments and working from your home office, where you will make telephone calls, schedule appointments, and compile reports to be sent to the insurance companies. Norfield Associates, Inc. is under new ownership and is looking for a confident, motivated, self-disciplined, and critical-thinking individual who can work independently. Training will be provided to help you learn the trade and acquire the necessary skills to succeed in this dynamic field.
