About the position

The Support Services Specialist position is located in the Division of Administration, Corporate Services Branch, at the Dallas Regional Office of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). This role is pivotal in providing comprehensive support in various areas including leasing, building and facilities operations, security, and corporate support services. The position is designed to ensure that the FDIC's facilities are managed effectively and efficiently, contributing to the overall operational success of the organization. The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing a wide range of facilities management and corporate support services contracts, which encompass mailroom operations, office supplies, express mail, copiers, furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E) procurement, maintenance, and disposition, as well as construction and moving services. Additionally, the role includes managing architecture and engineering services, security services, environmental services, and health unit operations. At the full performance level, the Support Services Specialist will serve as the technical monitor for these contracts, ensuring that the required goods and services are delivered on schedule, at competitive prices, and meet the quality standards specified in the contracts. The specialist will engage with contractors and contracting staff to resolve any disputes or performance issues that may arise. Utilizing the FDIC Procurement Card, the specialist will procure necessary goods and services within delegated authority and corporate procurement policy. Furthermore, the role involves directing building management and contractor staff to provide essential day-to-day facilities services, including cleaning, janitorial services, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing services, construction services, trash removal, recycling programs, building security, and locksmith services. The Support Services Specialist will also participate in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and customer service standards to enhance building and facilities operations. This includes reviewing invoices to ensure that charges align with actual work performed, analyzing contract expenses, developing budget projections based on historical and future cost estimates, tracking expenses, addressing discrepancies, and reporting on the status of all contracts under their purview. Maintaining FDIC health/safety and physical security policies, procedures, and standards for the regional office and associated field office sites is also a critical aspect of this role.

Responsibilities
? Serve as the technical monitor for various facilities management and corporate support services contracts.

Requirements
? One year of specialized experience equivalent to the grade 9 level or higher in the Federal service, including experience in scheduling and facilitating operations, maintenance, repair, or improvements of facilities.

? Experience in at least two of the following areas: leasing, office space planning/design, construction, building support services, expense tracking and invoice review, monitoring contractor performance, security, or health and safety programs.
,
? Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education in relevant fields may substitute for experience at the CG-11 level.

? One year of specialized experience equivalent to the grade 11 level or higher in the Federal service, including experience in planning or managing operations, maintenance, repair, or improvements of facilities.

? Experience in at least three of the following areas: leasing, office space planning/design, construction, building support services, budgeting/financial analysis, planning or monitoring contractor performance, security, or health and safety programs.
