Pension and Endowments Department:
The Pension Department (PEN) is responsible for the management of the post-retirement benefit Plans of the World Bank Group (WBG). PEN fulfills its fiduciary mandate under a strong governance framework established by the WBG, under the oversight of the Pension Finance Committee, chaired by the MDCFO. PEN is part of the Treasury Vice-Presidency. Its activities regroup the key functions that pertain to the management of the Pension Plans and are organized in three teams: Pension Investments (PENIN); Pension Middle-Office (PENMO); and Pension Administration (PENAD). PEN is a department with around 95 professional staff who are experts in key aspects of managing a pension Plan. PEN manages over $40 billion in assets as of end 2024 and serves around 17,000 Plan participants and beneficiaries. The PENDP team, directly under the PENDP Director's supervision, is comprised of PEN's Chief Actuary, of the PEN Risk Management team and of the PEN Director's Office front office, comprised of a Financial Analyst position, and an executive-assistant-level position.
Duties and Accountabilities:
Under the guidance and supervision of a Team Lead, the selected candidate will be responsible for specific individual tasks/projects and for working as an integral part of the team in executing PENDP risk function's work program. The selected candidate will serve in a data automation role on the team and liaise between the business team and IT team to support automation initiatives. His or her primary responsibilities will include, but not limited to, some combination of the following activities:
Support the Datalake connection, system design and configurations. Assist with streamlining and structuring the risk monitoring data in Datalake leveraging various sources - custodian records, manager data, Bloomberg data, and any other system the PEN team uses.
? Support the automation initiative to enhance risk monitoring using tools such as MS Power BI, SharePoint, Power automate, Data Lake and Bloomberg etc.
? Assist with coding in SQL, Python and any other language to leverage the Datalake to support the team with analytics and ongoing Plan level and asset class specific reporting. Use specialist knowledge to institute best practices in designing databases, coding and leveraging advanced features of Power BI.
? Support streamlining of spreadsheets used for regular key deliverables using macros and other advanced Microsoft Excel features. Support automation initiatives to improve process efficiency for the team's diversified work program.
? Train team members to support ongoing maintenance and updates of the databases and programing to accommodate changing business requirements.
? Assist in a variety of tasks in the team including but not limited to risk reporting, documentation, and others.

Selection Criteria
The successful candidate should have the following qualifications: ? Master's degree with 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education in finance or risk management. Professional qualification such as FRM, CFA would be a strong plus. ? The qualified candidate should have a sound understanding of World Bank systems, programing languages and be able to serve as a liaison between
the business team and IT to support automation initiatives.
? Seasoned finance professional with good knowledge with 1) Datalake, 2) coding and algorithms in python, SQL or any other languages, 3) build
analytics using data visualization to perform analytics and/or identify risks.
? Advanced experience with Power BI, Power Automate, Power Queries, proficiency in Excel macros and/ or a programing expert who works in a transparent way, and with the ability to train department users.
? Record of accomplishment in bridging business requirements and IT support.
? Able to troubleshoot and resolve issues reporting and system issues, also to document processes and policies.
? Proven ability to multitask, deliver results and respond quickly and effectively to requests. Ability to work under pressure and attention to detail.
? Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills, including the capacity to communicate and discuss complex technical reporting issues in simple terms, both verbally and in writing.
? Having the highest ethical standards.
