Job Summary:
The Supply Chain Manager oversees the daily operations of supply chain functions, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with business goals. This role is responsible for:
? Inventory management and analysis
? Procurement and purchasing
? Warehousing and logistics
? Cycle counting and physical inventory performance
? Problem-solving and strategic improvements
The Supply Chain Manager leads the Plant Purchasing, Warehouse, and Customer Service teams, collaborating closely with production to maintain optimal customer service levels and achieve manufacturing objectives. This role requires strong analytical skills, the ability to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives, and the capability to provide insightful reporting for senior management.
Key Responsibilities: ? Lead and manage supply chain departments, ensuring efficiency and adherence to schedules. ? Collaborate with Human Resources to hire, train, and develop supply chain personnel. ? Oversee customer service, purchasing, inventory control, and warehouse operations. ? Optimize sales, inventory, and production planning to maximize profitability. ? Control expenses and effectively utilize labor, equipment, and facilities. ? Work with the Plant Manager on internal and external audits to ensure compliance. ? Develop and implement strategies that support business growth and operational improvements. ? Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and records as required. ? Drive continuous improvement initiatives across supply chain functions. ? Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications: ? Bachelor?s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Materials Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience). ? 6-8 years of plant operations experience, with at least 3-4 years in a multi-functional leadership role (purchasing, logistics, customer service). ? Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams. ? Experience working in a plant environment with a deep understanding of inventory management systems. ? Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management abilities. ? Excellent decision-making, planning, and organizational skills. ? Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with AS400 or other inventory management systems is a plus. ? Ability to foster teamwork, drive results, and lead process improvements.
