About the position

The Manager of the AACU Home Equity Center at American Airlines is responsible for overseeing all second mortgage lending activities within the Credit Union. This role involves managing a team of loan officers and closers, ensuring timely processing of loans, handling escalated issues, and supporting the Business Services Team with various projects. The position requires strong leadership skills and a commitment to compliance with regulatory standards while fostering a positive work environment.

Responsibilities
? Manage a team of loan officers and loan closers.

? Ensure timely and efficient processing of loans in accordance with Credit Union guidelines.
,
? Handle escalated issues related to Home Equity processing.
,
? Hire and train new staff, coaching for top performance.
,
? Process Credit Union employee loan requests.
,
? Perform data analysis and maintain production and funding reports.
,
? Coordinate with branch staff to ensure quality member service.
,
? Assist in the implementation and maintenance of relevant Credit Union systems.
,
? Develop and maintain relationships with vendors essential to the home equity loan process.
,
? Participate in product development and marketing strategies.
,
? Develop and assist in the implementation of policies and procedures.
,
? Ensure compliance with regulatory disclosures and requirements.
,
? Review invoices for accuracy and payment.
,
? Prepare HMDA reporting and maintain closing document requirements.
,
? Handle rate management and support the Business Services Department.

Requirements
? High school diploma or GED.
,
? Minimum five years of mortgage lending experience, preferably in Home Equity loan origination and processing.
,
? Skilled in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
,
? Strong leadership skills and proficiency in RESPA guidelines.
,
? Excellent customer service and communication skills.
,
? Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
,
? Strong analytical and decision-making skills.

Nice-to-haves
? Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related area.

? Previous mortgage lending experience and knowledge of Episys.

? Previous supervisory or leadership experience.
