The City of Richland Hills is seeking an experienced professional to serve as the Director of Finance. This position provides management and oversight of all financial and budget activities for the City; oversees the City?s Municipal Court, Utility Billing and Human Resources operations; provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers; coordinates assigned activities with other departments and outside agencies; and provides highly responsible and complex administrative support to the City Manager.

This position has a $5,000 hiring incentive for the successful candidate.

Job Requirements

A Bachelor?s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or a related field, and five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in government fiscal services or governmental auditing with three (3) years of administrative and supervisory experience. A Certified Government Finance Officer (CGFO) is strongly preferred.

The successful candidate must have the ability to develop and maintain cooperative and professional relationships with employees, citizens, community and private organizations, elected officials, boards and commissions. The candidate must be able to perform tasks with accuracy and completeness; provide effective leadership, building trust and teamwork with employees and peers; effectively solve complex problems; and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Compensation

The City of Richland Hills offers a competitive salary depending on qualifications and experience. The City participates in the Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS) at a 7% employee deposit rate with a City matching ratio of 2:1. The City pays 100% of the employee?s medical, dental and term life insurance, and contributes 50% to dependent medical coverage. Employees receive paid vacation and sick leave, and eleven (11) paid holidays which accrue at the beginning of the year and may be used at any time. The City offers a compressed work schedule Monday through Thursday from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm with Fridays off.
