Job Summary/Description:
The Department of Nursing invites applicants for a nine month tenure track faculty position with a focus on the undergraduate nursing program students. The successful applicant will be proficient in medical surgical nursing and have a strong academic record and commitment to nursing education. This faculty position would provide teaching in classroom, online, and in the clinical, didactic, skills, and simulation courses. The successful applicant will also posses their doctorate in nursing and or active in a doctoral degree program with a solid plan of completing their degree. This faculty position would require the individual to live in San Angelo, Texas.
Typical Duties/Job Duties:
Basic duties will include teaching undergraduate, prelicensure nursing courses as assigned to include but not limited to: the preparation of course syllabi, course materials, assignment of grades and delivery of didactic and clinical instruction in classroom, hybrid, simulation, and clinical agency settings. Department and program committee participation is expected.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
? Experience teaching baccalaureate nursing education.
? Knowledge of and experience with higher education principles, practices, and procedures.
? Proven, strong written and verbal communication and collaborative organizational skills.
? Knowledge and experience with technology sufficient to teach assigned courses.
? Ability to collaboratively participate in the development of course and program curriculum, prepare course materials, and effectively deliver didactic and clinical presentations.
? A desire to develop innovative learning experiences.
? Commitment to the promotion and provision of learner-centered education.
? Dedication to excellence in teaching, with a strong commitment to high professional standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
A doctoral degree in Nursing (or related degree field); if the doctoral degree is in a related field, a master?s degree in nursing is required. Candidates in their last year of doctoral degree studies with a solid plan for completing their degree will be considered.
An unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas or compact license to practice in Texas at the time of appointment is required. Preferred Qualifications:
CNE certification.
Advanced Practice License in the State of Texas.
A record of teaching, leadership/service, and scholarship or creative activities that qualifies for appointment a the rank of Assistant Professor.
