Project Manager, Deployment, Energy

Due to continued growth in our Utility Scale Energy business, we are seeking a motivated and experienced Project Manager to help deliver a large pipeline of Projects, both in Victoria and around the wider APAC region. The Project Manager is ultimately responsible for the safe and compliant engineering, design, construction and commissioning of Utility scale storage projects assigned to them within Tesla deployment portfolio within time, quality and cost constraints, including a high-quality hand over to the Tesla Service team. The ideal candidate will have solid hands-on experience managing energy infrastructure projects; demonstrates initiative, clear-headed problem solving, and mastery of the tactical detail for each project. Finally, you'll bring high energy and an optimistic approach towards driving each project to completion, within a dynamic team and business environment. Responsibilities • Responsible for project ownership and execution, which requires understanding/managing the scope and schedule and keeping all parties in sync • Overall management of EPC sub-contractors for all phases of construction of projects including design, construction, commissioning, and completion • Understand and manage the grid connection agreement during construction and testing phases • Interface with and manage internal and external stakeholders, from contracting stage through execution and handover to Service • Identify gaps in scope and responsibility to ensure project success, requiring a comprehensive understanding of engineering, construction, permitting concepts and rules of conduct • Where relevant, support the finance team and supply information to ensure Tesla's overall compliance with the internal agreements and targets • Ensure all works of Tesla employees and contractors are carried out in a safe, high quality, efficient manner in the spirit of continuous improvement • Adhere to contractual conditions to ensure compliance and Tesla's subsequent compliance with upstream agreements • Prepare regular reports on project status and risk Requirements • Engineering degree (Civil or Electrical Preferred), Tertiary qualifications or relevant work experience • 5+ years of end-to-end project management experience • Experience delivering registered generators in the NEM desirable • Experience in delivering projects in Renewable energy , Power distribution or Utilities • PMP/PMC certification preferred • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time (mostly local travel but occasionally international travel will be required) • Knowledge of construction contracts, subcontracts, and the bid process • Ability to manage field construction activities and resources • Basic knowledge of Electrical infrastructure • Ability to manage several projects and prioritise • Highly motivated self-starter • Ability to work cross functionally with engineering, business development, and construction personnel. • Experience managing matrixed project teams • Excellent communication and documentation skills Compensation and Benefits Benefits In addition to a competitive compensation package, Tesla Australia & New Zealand is pleased to offer the following benefits for permanent employees: • Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP) • Parental leave (no minimum employment period) • Primary carers - 18 weeks at full pay or 36 weeks half pay • Secondary carers - 6 weeks full pay • Employee Vehicle Loan Program • Novated Leasing (AU only) • Well-being Fund - An annual allowance for all employees to support their well-being in ways that are meaningful to them • Bike to work - $10 per day if you cycle to work • Birthday Leave & Volunteer Leave Some eligibility criteria may apply, benefits detailed above are subject to change / withdrawal at Tesla's discretion with no prior notice.
