About the position

The Material Handler-Loader at Coca-Cola Bottling Company UNITED, Inc. plays a crucial role in ensuring that customer orders are filled accurately and efficiently. This position involves a variety of tasks that contribute to the overall operation of the Athens Distribution Warehouse Team 2. The primary responsibility is to fill customer orders based on tickets or voice commands, adhering to set quotas. The Material Handler-Loader will manually fill orders by walking and utilizing pallet jacks or riding jacks, ensuring that products are identified by description and quantity before being transported to the staging area. Accuracy in picking is essential, and the individual will also be responsible for general housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and organized work environment. In addition to filling orders, the Material Handler-Loader will read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine the items that need to be moved, gathered, or distributed. Sorting and placing materials on pallets according to predetermined sequences, such as size, type, or product code, is a key part of the job. The individual will mark materials with identifying information and record the amounts of materials received or distributed. Counting items for distribution within the plant is necessary to ensure compliance with company standards. The role may also involve performing other duties as assigned by management, contributing to the overall efficiency of the warehouse operations. To succeed in this position, candidates must meet certain requirements, including a minimum age of 18 years, the ability to read, write, and speak English, and a commitment to maintaining a neat professional appearance. Regular and prompt attendance is essential, as is the ability to maintain the safety and security of company assets. While a high school education is not mandatory, candidates should have some related experience or training. Forklift and electric riding pallet jack experience is preferred. The job requires physical stamina, including the ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs. Candidates should also demonstrate adaptability to change, initiative, and a willingness to work weekends, holidays, or a flexible schedule as required.

Responsibilities
? Fills orders from tickets according to set quotas.

? Orders filled manually by walking and using pallet jack and/or riding jacks.

? Identify product by description and quantity, then remove product from area and carry to the staging area.

? Check for accuracy in picking.

? Perform general housekeeping duties.

? Complete daily powered equipment inspection form.

? Read customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.

? Sort and place materials or items on pallets according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, or product code.

? Mark materials with identifying information.

? Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed.

? Count items for distribution within the plant to ensure conformance to Company standards.

? Perform appropriate duties as assigned by management.
