CDL A Local Delivery Truck Driver

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We at Sysco are currently looking for dependable local CDL A Delivery Truck Drivers to join our team immediately. The primary duty is safe and efficient operation of a tractor-trailer while manually unloading/delivering a variety of products, including meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods and supplies, to specific customer locations following a designated route schedule. Our drivers are encouraged to develop positive relationships with each customer and understand their operations to meet their needs and exceed expectations.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Basic requirements:
• Being at least 21 years old.
• Subject to a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
• Have a valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) with no negative marks on driving record.
• Be capable of reading, writing and communicating in English.
• Capability to handle touch freight, which might mean lifting, pushing, or moving a product weighing between 40-60 pounds and in rare cases, up to 100 pounds.
• Flexibility to work on weekends, holidays, and overtime as per business requirement.

Preferred qualifications:
• Experience of delivering to customers for one year is preferred.
• Six months of experience using a hand cart or hand truck is preferred.
• Six months of experience in the food and beverage industry is preferred.
• Consistent work history for a period of two years is preferred.
