About the position

As a CDL Truck Driver at Waste Management, you will play a crucial role in safely operating a heavy-duty truck to perform assigned duties on transfer routes. This position is essential for maintaining the efficiency and safety of our operations, ensuring that all tasks are completed in accordance with the Occupational and Safety Health Act (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements, as well as local, state, and federal regulations. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe vehicle, performing pre- and post-trip inspections, and reporting any issues that arise during your route. In this role, you will work closely with Route Managers to improve route efficiencies and address any problems or unsafe accounts. You will be expected to communicate effectively with Dispatch and Route Managers regarding customer requests, incidents, or any issues that may arise during your route. Your responsibilities will also include ensuring that all containers are properly positioned on the customer's property, leaving the area clean and free of debris, and completing all necessary documentation at the end of your route. This position does not involve supervisory duties, but it requires a commitment to safety and customer service. You will participate in scheduled training and meetings as required, and you will be expected to assist other company drivers as directed. Your ability to follow route assignments and maintain a high standard of service will be key to your success in this role.

Responsibilities
? Safely operate a heavy-duty truck on transfer routes.

? Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of the assigned vehicle using the Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR).

? Report any unsafe situations or service calls to Route Manager or Dispatch before attempting service.
,
? Participate in all scheduled training, briefings, and meetings as required by Route Manager.
,
? Work closely with Route Managers to improve route efficiencies and identify problem or unsafe accounts.
,
? Notify Route Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
,
? Communicate customer requests or issues to Dispatch or Route Manager.
,
? Ensure all containers are completely dumped and the customer's location is clean and free of debris.
,
? Position containers on the customer's property to ensure lids are properly replaced and containers do not block driveways or traffic.
,
? Follow route assignments throughout the day and complete all documentation when checking in at the end of the route.

Requirements
? Must possess a Commercial Drivers License B (CDL).

? Must be at least 18 years of age.
,
? Must successfully complete pre-employment DOT drug screen, physical, and background check.

? Acceptable driving record is required.
