As a Crew Manager at American Airlines, you will be an integral part of the Flight Service Team within the Customer Experience Division. This role is pivotal in supervising, directing, and coordinating the job performance and activities of Flight Attendants and Support Staff. You will act as the Manager on Duty or provide operational support, working directly in the operational environment, whether on the concourse, at the gates, or on the aircraft as required. This position may also involve occasionally working as a Flight Attendant, allowing you to stay connected with the frontline operations and the team you lead. Your responsibilities will include coaching and counseling subordinate employees to ensure they understand and comply with all company and departmental policies, procedures, and regulations. You will initiate appropriate corrective actions when necessary, including the potential for dismissal, and provide guidance to help develop Flight Attendants and Support Staff for greater responsibilities, transfers, and promotions. Additionally, you will participate in task forces and planning activities to problem-solve and plan the future direction of the department, ensuring that a quality product is consistently delivered to customers. You will be responsible for accomplishing in-flight Quality Service Reviews and collaborating with various departments, city management, and vendors involved in producing or delivering different aspects of the in-flight product. This role requires flexibility, as you will need to work shifts that include early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays, and you must be able to travel and be away from home approximately 25% of the month. Responsibilities
? Supervise, direct, and coordinate job performance and activities of Flight Attendants and Support Staff.

? Act as the Manager on Duty or in an operational support role working in the actual operation either on the concourse, at the gates, or on the aircraft as required.

? Coach and counsel subordinate employees to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

? Initiate appropriate corrective action, including dismissal if necessary.

? Provide guidance in developing Flight Attendants and Support Staff for greater responsibility, transfer, and promotion.

? Participate in task forces and planning activities to problem-solve and plan the future direction of the department.

? Ensure a quality product is consistently delivered to customers.

? Accomplish in-flight Quality Service Reviews and collaborate with various departments and vendors involved in the in-flight product.
Requirements
? High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
,
? Current Flight Service, Passenger Service, or Passenger Sales experience is preferred.
,
? Understanding of working with a contract labor group is desirable.
,
? Ability to coach, develop, and lead a team of Flight Attendants.
,
? Excellent interpersonal, planning, and organizational skills.
,
? Ability to meet qualifications to train as a flight attendant for better leadership of the team.
,
? Neat, well-groomed, and capable of making a positive impression.
,
? Service-oriented with the ability to push/pull force of up to 60 pounds.
,
? Ability to successfully perform physical requirements of the job, including emergency evacuation drills.

? Ability to effectively coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.

? Must fulfill FAA criminal background checks for unescorted access privileges to airport security areas.

? Ability to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges.
,
? Must pass U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) mandated drug test.
