The Food Service Worker at Shippensburg University plays a crucial role in the food service team, assisting the manager with various tasks related to food and meal preparation. This position requires maintaining cash receipts and meal records, as well as assisting the manager in completing daily reports. The Food Service Worker is expected to uphold high standards of quality in food production, sanitation, and kitchen safety practices, ensuring that all food served meets the established guidelines and regulations. In this role, the Food Service Worker will prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu, ensuring that all items are prepared in a timely manner. The worker will also be responsible for preparing daily reports that verify transactions and understanding what constitutes a complete meal. Proper storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner is essential, as is serving food according to meal schedules and department policies. The worker will utilize kitchen equipment, particularly knives, with care and precision, and will add garnishments to enhance the visual appeal of the dishes served. Additionally, the Food Service Worker will coordinate and assist in the major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment. Adherence to food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage is paramount. The worker will maintain a clean and organized work and storage area, scrub and polish counters, and clean and sanitize steam tables and other equipment. Following established procedures for cleanliness is essential to ensure a balanced and safe environment, which includes sweeping, mopping, and ware washing. The role may also involve maintaining garbage collection sites and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion. Other duties may be assigned as needed, and the position may require physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking and standing. Uniforms and/or the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may also be required.

? Supervise the food temperature requirements

Requirements
? Food Service Certificate as needed
