ROLE SUMMARY
We seek an experienced teacher with a proven track record of successfully teaching Humanities in Grades 9 and 10, as well as IB Diploma Program Group 3 courses (History, Global Politics, Anthropology, Philosophy, or Economics). Candidates should have a strong commitment to a conceptual, inquiry-based approach to teaching and learning, fostering critical thinking, student-driven exploration, and interdisciplinary connections.

This position reports to the High School Principal.

POSITION PURPOSE
? Seeking an experienced IB Diploma Program Group 3 courses (History, Global Politics, Anthropology, Philosophy or Economics) and Humanities in grades 9 and 10.
? This is a full-time position.
? This teacher will be a part of a collaborative department with an internationally focused curriculum.

RESPONSIBILITIES
? Primary responsibilities include teaching humanities using creative and differentiated instructional methodologies, collaborating with high school teachers and administrators to plan student-centered curriculum that challenges students socially and intellectually, and establishing an active communication with students and families.
? Secondary responsibilities may include supervision of Extended Essays, writing letters of recommendation, or teaching Theory of Knowledge and/or other courses related to the candidate?s expertise/profile.
? Other duties as assigned and in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (e.g. advisory, supervision duties, office hours)

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
? Bachelor?s Degree required, Master?s Degree preferred
? Experience in a K-12 educational environment is essential
? Experience with best practices in assessment and reporting preferred (e.g., Standard-Based Grading and Reporting)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
? Ability to stand for extended periods of time while instructing or demonstrating teaching techniques.
? Capability to move around the classroom to provide individual support to students.
? Comfort with lifting and handling art materials, supplies and student projects, occasionally requiring up to 15 lbs. of weight.
? Dexterity and fine motor skills required for demonstrating teaching techniques and using tools and materials in the classroom.

COMPENSATION
Compensation is between $67,745 to $111,974 commensurate with years of experience as outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement (salary is prorated for part-time or temporary positions).
