Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support our HR Department in ensuring smooth and efficient business operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Recruitment and Staffing: Support the full recruitment lifecycle, including job posting, sourcing candidates, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and assisting in selection and offer processes to ensure a smooth hiring experience for all candidates.

Onboarding and Integration: Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, including conducting orientation sessions, preparing onboarding materials, and collaborating with departments to ensure seamless integration into the company culture.

Proactive Employee Relations: Build and maintain positive relationships with employees by regularly engaging with staff, identifying and addressing potential concerns early, and fostering an environment of open communication and trust. Act as a visible, approachable resource for employees, helping to address questions and preemptively resolve potential issues before they escalate.

Performance Management and Accountability: Support the process of tracking attendance including write-ups, and in collaboration with the HR Manager, conduct investigations and administer appropriate disciplinary actions and performance improvement plans as needed.

Leaves Management: Administer and manage employee leave programs, including FMLA and other statutory and company-approved leave. Educate employees on leave options, track leave usage, and ensure compliance with relevant laws and company policies.

Worker's Compensation Administration: Assist in managing worker's compensation claims, coordinating with employees, healthcare providers, and insurance carriers to facilitate a smooth claims process. Support injured employees in returning to work safely and in compliance with applicable regulations.

Safety and Compliance: Support and enhance safety programs, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. Actively participate as a member of the Safety Committee, attending monthly meetings and collaborating with the HR Manager and senior leadership to address and implement action items.

Compensation and Benefits: Provide support for compensation and benefits administration, addressing employee questions, assisting with benefits enrollment, and contributing to competitive and equitable compensation practices.

Payroll Support: While not directly processing payroll, collaborate with the payroll team to resolve issues, verify employee data, and ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.

Records and Reporting: Maintain accurate employee records, prepare reports as needed, and support HR compliance requirements, including documentation and reporting for audits and legal compliance.

Culture and Engagement: Promote a positive, inclusive, and engaging work environment by embodying and reinforcing the company?s core values. Support employee engagement initiatives and contribute to building a thriving, collaborative culture.

Administrative Support: Perform various administrative tasks to support the HR department?s daily operations, including managing files, updating systems, preparing communications, and assisting with HR projects as needed.

Continuous Improvement: Actively seek opportunities to improve HR processes and policies, driving efficiency and innovation in HR practices aligned with organizational goals.

Food Safety and Quality Control: Ensure adherence to food safety standards and quality control procedures throughout the manufacturing process to guarantee the production of safe, high-quality food products in compliance with regulatory & claim requirements.

? Serve as back-up to the HR Manager.

? Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor?s Degree: A bachelor?s degree in human resources or a related HR-focused area is required; an HR certification (PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) may be accepted in lieu of an HR-focused degree.

HR Experience: 3-5 years of HR generalist experience, demonstrating a solid understanding of HR principles and best practices.

Industry Experience: Experience in food processing is preferred but not required.

Safety Background: Experience with safety programs and practices is a plus.

Technical /timekeeping systems is highly beneficial.

Certification: PHR/SPHR and/or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP is preferred but not required if experience and education requirements are met.

Work Environment:

This is an in-person role; it has no hybrid or remote work component; this function requires physical presence in the facility 5 days a week, 8:00 to 5:00 (Monday through Friday).

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
