Job Description: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians. Your primary responsibilities will include administering medications, monitoring patients' health, performing routine procedures, and assisting with daily activities to ensure the comfort and well-being of our patients.

Key Responsibilities: ? Patient Care: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will be responsible for providing direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, and feeding patients. You will assist with mobility and physical therapy exercises as needed. ? Medication Administration: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will administer prescribed medications, monitor for side effects, and document medication administration accurately in patients' medical records. ? Vital Signs Monitoring: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will regularly measure and record patients' vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates, and report any abnormalities to the supervising nurse or physician. ? Wound Care: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will perform wound care procedures, including cleaning, dressing, and monitoring wounds for signs of infection or complications. ? Patient Assessment: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will conduct basic patient assessments and document observations in patients' charts. You will communicate changes in patients' conditions to the healthcare team promptly. ? Assisting with Procedures: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will assist physicians and registered nurses with medical procedures, such as inserting catheters, drawing blood, and collecting specimens for laboratory testing. ? Patient Education: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will provide patients and their families with information about their conditions, treatments, and self-care techniques to promote recovery and prevent complications. ? Charting and Documentation: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge instructions. ? Compliance and Safety: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will adhere to all healthcare regulations and facility policies to ensure patient safety and confidentiality. You will participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices in nursing care.

Requirements and Qualifications: ? Licensure: A current and valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of practice is required. ? Education: Completion of an accredited practical nursing program is required. An Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or a diploma in practical nursing is preferred. ? Experience: Previous experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in a healthcare setting is preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply. ? Skills: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) must have strong clinical skills, including the ability to administer medications, perform wound care, and conduct basic patient assessments. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential. ? Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. Additional certifications, such as IV therapy or specialized training in geriatric or pediatric care, are advantageous. ? Physical Requirements: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) must be able to lift and move patients, stand for extended periods, and perform physical tasks such as bending, reaching, and kneeling. ? Team Player: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) must be able to work collaboratively with a diverse healthcare team, including registered nurses, physicians, and other medical professionals. ? Compassionate Care: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) must demonstrate empathy, patience, and a genuine concern for the well-being of patients. ? Flexibility: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) must be willing to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
