About the position

Responsibilities
? Adhere to customer service programs to meet or exceed goals.

? Handle customer relations positively, resolving complaints as needed.

? Receive and break down meat loads, checking for quality and quantity.

? Maintain product quality by ensuring compliance with storage and temperature regulations.

? Cut, grind, weigh, and wrap fresh meat products according to procedures.

? Control shrink and expenses, preventing the sale of out-of-date products.
,
? Complete and monitor daily log sheets and required paperwork.
,
? Maintain and organize the meat department cooler and freezer.
,
? Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of the sales floor and work areas.
,
? Meet product quality, trimming, grinding, packaging, labeling, and rotation standards.
,
? Comply with retail labeling laws and company policies.
,
? Assist customers with special orders and engage in suggestive selling.
,
? Respond appropriately to incoming calls and inquiries.

Requirements
? Ability to be friendly, courteous, and tactful with customers and co-workers.

? Working knowledge of all job duties within the Meat Department.

? Ability to communicate orally and read written assignments.

? Good understanding of company practices and Meat Department policies.

? Ability to judge and react to business activity.

? Knowledge of product variety, perishability, food safety, and sanitation.

? Physical ability to lift and maneuver objects up to approximately 80 lbs.

? Frequent reaching, bending, and climbing ladders as needed.

? Manual dexterity and good eye-hand coordination.

? Knowledge of basic mathematics and weights and measures.
