Mid- Level Mechanical Engineer

A growing, award winning, multi-disciplinary MEP engineering consulting firm located in New York City is currently seeking to add an experienced mechanical engineer to the team. The firm provides a wide range of design and construction phase services for new and existing buildings.

The successful individual will have 5 -10 years? experience in the design and construction-phase of mechanical engineering for residential, commercial, institutional, hospitality, and educational projects. They must have the ability to work independently under limited supervision on several projects concurrently, show flexibility and innovation, and be client oriented.

Key Responsibilities: ? Prepare contract drawings and specifications. ? Design building systems by performing heating and cooling load calculations, selecting mechanical equipment, designing duct distribution for HVAC systems, and performing energy modeling of buildings. ? Implement code requirements for mechanical design compliance. ? Perform field surveys to examine existing building systems and evaluate construction progress; visit finished site to ensure work is completed as specified. ? Coordinate with clients and consultants. ? Review and respond to RFIs and submittals. ? Direct and mentor junior team members.

Qualifications: ? Bachelor?s degree in mechanical engineering ? Professional Engineer License (preferred) ? A solid technical background and thorough knowledge of building codes and standards ? Excellent oral and written communication skills ? Attention to detail and quality control ? Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit

Compensation commensurate with experience in the range of $85,000 - $115,000.
