Job Summary:
The Physician Extender evaluates and manages the patients assigned to the Vascular Interventional service in inpatient and outpatient settings.
Position Summary
? Equal Hospital and Clinic Coverage with another physician extender
? Performs complete medical history and physical exams on all in-patient consults
? Complete pre-procedure H&P notes as needed for outpatient procedures
? Round and document on patients post procedures
? Ensure all follow-up care is scheduled post-procedure
? Order appropriate labs, diagnostic testing, and procedures
? Reviews results to verify all lab work, diagnostic results, and other test results are available and notifies physician as appropriate
? Recognize and critically assess any changes in the patient?s condition and report them to the physician as needed in all settings.
? See follow-up patients in the clinic for continuation of care.
? May be responsible/comfortable with basic interpretation of ultrasounds, Xrays, CTs, etc.
? This is NOT a procedural position.
Education Requirements
Graduate of an approved Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
Experience/Skills
? 3- 5 years of experience is preferred, with vascular interventional experience being a plus
? Ability to work independently and in a team setting
? Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clients, staff, and other healthcare providers

Licensure/Certification
? Current licensure in the State of Georgia
? BLS and ACLS
? Comply with Georgia?s Code related to attaining and maintaining limited prescriptive privileges
