Overview

The Lunch Cook /Food Service & Preparation person uses their knowledge and experience in food preparation to ensure the proper, timely, and safe preparation and service of food according to established recipes while adhering to all food safety and sanitation requirements and maintaining a safe and orderly kitchen. Responsible for effectively managing all food preparation.
? THIS IS A PART-TIME POSITION Working Between the hours of 10 am - 2pm M-F.
? We are seeking local applicants who live in the Delco area.
? Must be able to pass the required 4x childcare related clearances & obtain a physical exam with TB test.

This position will be working in a local childcare center preparing meals and snacks for 65 children. You must have experience in the food industry.

Responsibilities
? Food preparation and lite cooking
? Portioning and serving
? Monitor food supplies and inventory controls. Prepares weekly shopping lists for grocery shoppers.
? Maintains proper food temperatures and storage of food. Responsible for gathering ingredients needed for food preparation.
? Follows recipes and produces food items following a weekly pre-set menu.
? Cleans and puts away all items used to include trays, pots, pans, and utensils. Sweep and mop the kitchen floor and take out the trash daily.
? Cleans assigned work areas and kitchen equipment, including but not limited to stoves, ovens, refrigerators, freezers, worktables, prep sinks, hoods, cabinets, and, ventilation screens.
? Participates in all required training.

Requirements
? Minimum of a High School Diploma
? The ability to obtain clearances and pass criminal background checks
? Will be required to complete state require trainings related to childcare and child abuse.
? 2 years of large-group food preparation/ cooking experience
? Knowledge of food preparation, food safety, and sanitation procedures.
? Basic reading and writing skills. Ability to follow written recipes and menus.
? Operate oven and stovetop
? ServSafe Manager certification ( Required or must be able to take and pass the exam)
? A positive and consistent work ethic
? Computer literacy preferred
? Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Physical Requirements May Include:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Stand for long periods. Pushing, and pulling food carts. Walking while carrying trays of food. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
