Pharmacy Team Associate
Experienced Pharmacy Tech

Lititz area based retail pharmacy seeking a motivated, professional individual to fill the UNIQUE role of LTC practice manager. The applicant would have at least three years experience as a technician/medical billing, or case worker in a healthcare setting, Certified will be required if not already. A mature, professional individual is required to assume this position in the pharmacy while working under the direction of the pharmacist-in-charge.

General Definition
The purpose of the team member is to assist the pharmacist-in-charge and staff pharmacists with the daily/weekly/ monthly activities in the pharmacy and help patient organize and synchronize medications, with pharmacy benefit manager contracts and recon, ect

Pharmacy Practice Managerial Responsibilities (50% of the time):

  • Training and team engagement
  • Pharmacy Regulatory and Licensing
  • Controlled substances tracking/diversion auditing and review
  • Pharmacy third party auditing, reconciliation, and reviewing
  • Overall Pharmacy business management and Employee lifecycle
  • Maintaining pharmacy systems and E-health records
  • Assist in prior authorization process.

General Technician Responsibilities (50% of the time)
? Help patients who are dropping off or picking up prescription orders
? Enter prescription orders into the computer
? Create and update patients health and insurance information in the computer
? Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with local, state, federal, and company regulations
? Communicate with insurance carriers to obtain payment for prescription claims
? At point of sale, verify that customer receives correct prescription(s)
? Assist the pharmacist with filling and labeling prescriptions
? Prepare the pharmacy inventory
? Screen telephone calls for the pharmacist
? Communicate with prescribers and their agents to obtain refill authorization;
? Maintain an awareness of developments in the community and pharmaceutical fields that relate to job responsibilities and integrate them into practice
? Assist other pharmacy technicians
? Accurately maintaining all documentation
? Housekeeping and Material Handling

? High school diploma or graduate equivalent degree (Certified pharmacy tech not required at time of employment, and can be obtained while working)
? Ability to adhere to all safety standards and wear and utilize all personal protective equipment
? Ability to adhere to all quality procedures and standards
