Position Summary Information

Key Responsibilities

Juniata College is seeking to hire a Post Office Supervisor to
manage the Juniata College campus post office, a US Postal Service
( USPS ) Contract Postal Unit. The Post Office Supervisor is
responsible for postal operations and customer service in the
college post office, which includes the collection, processing, and
delivery of incoming and outgoing mail and packages throughout the
campus community. This position manages, orders, and audits postal
accountable (stock), oversees cash and budget related to
operations, and ensures the college post office follows USPS
regulations and college guidelines.

Primary Responsibilities: ? Processes all incoming, outgoing, and intercampus mail daily, following applicable postal regulations. ? Oversees institutional bulk mail permits and manages funding to cover postage for college mailings. Advises users of bulk mailing on necessary procedures and methods of reducing costs. ? Picks up mail/packages from the main USPS location in Huntingdon. ? Maintains address locations for faculty, staff, students, and offices of the college. Assigns mail pickup locations for campus community and box numbers to incoming students. ? Oversees delivery of most USPS, UPS, and Fed-Ex packages to central distribution points in the various academic and administrative buildings. ? Receives and maintains cash records on stamp sales, registered mail, and other service payments. Processes deposits from sales to the USPS . Issues chargebacks to campus offices and departments. ? Manages, schedules, and trains employees, which includes a part-time staff member and student assistants who are critical to the operations of the post office. ? Oversees and responsible for department golf cart used for campus delivery process. ? Advises users of bulk mailing on necessary procedures and methods of reducing costs. ? Performs related duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications

? Knowledge and capabilities normally acquired through completion
of a high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education
and experience.

? At least three years of work experience processing mail at a USPS
location or a Contract Postal Unit.

? One year work experience serving in a leadership, supervisory, or
management capacity.

? Experience working in retail or customer service field,
specifically using a cash register and adding machine, and handling
cash.

? Ability to make arithmetic computations and tabulations
accurately in a fast-paced environment.

? Thorough knowledge of federal USPS postal laws, procedures, and
regulations.

? Ability to operate postal equipment, such as postage
meters.

? Computer knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Office
Suite. Experience with computer-based postal tracking systems
preferred.

Supervision Required/Given

The post office supervisor reports to the Vice President for
Strategic Marketing and Communications.

The part-time post office assistant, one Juniata Associate
(student) and at least eight student assistants report to this
position.

Physical Demands
? Ability to lift, carry, push or pull heavy mail weighing up to
50lbs with assistance, as well as squat, bend, crouch, stoop,
kneel, grasp, reach, and pull to move mail and packages.
? Ability to stand for extensive periods of time.

Special Instructions to Applicants

Valid driver?s license required. The post office supervisor needs
to have their own vehicle for transportation to and from the
downtown USPS post office.

Working Schedule

This position works on site, typically 7:30 a.m. ? 4 p.m.
