Job Description

Essential Functions:

Adheres to the ANA Nursing Process outlined in 2010 to carry out the following tasks:
? Compiles comprehensive information that is pertinent to the health status of healthcare consumers.
? Reviews the assessment information to identify the diagnosis or specific issues.
? Envisages the projected impacts for a personalized strategy developed to cater to the healthcare user's needs.
? Outlines a plan providing strategies and choices to attain expected outcomes.
? Follows through with the established plan. Ensures patient progression along the plan.
? The Coordination of Care focuses on synchronizing the provision of care.
? Health instruction and health promotion aim to enhance health and cultivate a safe environment through specific methods.
? The responsibilities of consultation for advanced practice registered nurses and nursing role specialists include shaping the identified plan, boosting the competencies of others, and driving significant change.
? Reviews the progress towards reaching intended goals.

Follows the guidelines outlined in the ANA Professional Performance Standards, 2010 edition:
? Enhancing nursing practice in a systematic manner results in improved quality and effectiveness
? Acquires skills and understanding that reflect contemporary nursing practice
? Evaluating personal nursing practice while considering professional standards, guidelines, and relevant laws
? Engages in interactions that lead to the professional development of coworkers and associates
? Engages in collaboration with patients, their families, and other participants in nursing care
? Ethical standards are ingrained in the foundation of every practice realm
? Adapts research results into practical methods
? Ensuring safety, efficacy, cost-effectiveness, and impact on practice are key considerations in the planning and delivery of nursing services

? Conducting operations in a way that is both environmentally conscious and beneficial for health

? Adherence to state laws and regulations is crucial for Registered Professional Nurses to deliver competent care that aligns with the standards, policies, and guidelines established by accrediting organizations.
? Acts in accordance with the ethics described in the Code of Ethics for Nurses (ANA 2010).

Effectively leverages appropriate technology and software to:
? Aid in supporting and documenting nursing activities and patient care processes.
? Access essential work-related tools to actively engage with the organization as a committed team member, including using company email systems, completing iLearn training courses, participating in employee engagement surveys, reviewing benefits and compensation information, and understanding company policies and procedures.
? Consistently working to enhance the quality of patient care by applying innovative and creative solutions to challenges.
? Any other tasks as deemed necessary.

Additional Requirements

Required:

Education - Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing

Certifications - Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) - Within 60 days of hire or transfer; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing

Regarding BLS certification:

The department you are applying to may require BLS certification sooner than 60 days post transfer/hire. The hiring manager will discuss this with you if it is applicable.

Preferred:

Experience - 5+ years of Registered Nurse Experience

Education - Bachelors degree in Nursing

Physical Requirements:

Very Heavy work - exerting over 25 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and/or more than 50 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force occassionally (up to 33% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force seldomly to move objects. Possible exposure to radiation and frequent exposure to contaminated needles and infectious body substances. Requires the ability to work designated shift lengths (including 8 and 12 hours), which may include night shifts or occasional irregular hours.
