Everytown for Gun Safety is hiring a Social Media Video Intern to support with the creation of social-first video content that amplifies the voices of the gun violence prevention movement online, educates our audiences about the issue and common-sense solutions, and drives supporters to take action. The ideal person for this role will be skilled in drafting accessible social media content, keeping their finger on the pulse of what?s trending online, and supporting the production of engaging video content.

This paid internship will run through the summer and is limited to 20 hours per week. The start and end dates are flexible. The position will sit on the national social media team as part of the digital campaigns team, and is based in our New York City office.

In this role you will:
? Support with short- and long-form social-first video content:
? Help with pitching, scriptwriting, editing, producing, vetting, and project management
? Work with the social media, creative, and video teams to identify engaging and platform-specific video content and collaborate to create it
? Track evolving video trends on social media and share learnings with the team
? Support with drafting social media content for Instagram, Threads, Facebook, BlueSky, TikTok, and YouTube
? Support with rapid response content creation and community management

In this role, you will learn:
? How to break down difficult material?about research, policy, and litigation?and turn it into educational, action-oriented social media content
? Social media best practices in the social justice non-profit sector
? How to work with multiple stakeholders on content to hit a goal

Required qualifications: ? Current undergraduate students are encouraged to apply ? Strong written communication and organizational skills ? Strong attention to detail ? Fluency in social media platforms, and an excitement around reaching new audiences and learning new skills ? A mindset for inclusivity, equity and trying new things online ? A passion for advocacy and an interest in the gun violence prevention movement ? Pluses include: video editing skills, experience with social media tools like Sprout and CapCut

The minimum hourly rate for this role is $17.00p/hr
