Public Health-Seattle & King County?s Environmental Health Services (EHS) Division seeks 5 Term Limited Temporary (TLT) / Special Duty Assignment (SDA) Program/Project Manager II (PPM II) positions to support our migration to a new software system.

This role supports the implementation of software solutions, including division-wide Enterprise Permitting and Licensing software. Responsibilities involve creating tailored training programs to meet Environmental Health Services program needs. You'll collaborate with Continuous Improvement team and program leads within each section of the Environmental Health Services Division to ensure that staff are ready to transition to the new system once it goes live, (anticipated during the 4th quarter of 2024). These positions will report to designated program leads or the implementation and training specialist.

Applying equity and social justice principles is fundamental. You'll exemplify these principles in all aspects of the work, focusing on managing the operational components of the Enterprise Permitting and Licensing software with fairness, inclusivity, and accessibility in mind. This will be achieved by accommodating different learning needs, engaging with diverse communities and stakeholders throughout the implementation process to gather feedback, and fostering an inclusive and welcoming work environment.

Temporary opportunity. Term-Limited Temporary positions are "at-will" positions but are eligible for benefits. This TLT is currently anticipated to last 12 months with potential for renewal and extension. However, funding sources for this work remain uncertain and dependent upon decisions actively being made at both the federal and local levels. As a result, the end date of this position may be adjusted based on those decisions. The County and the Department continue to work to secure long term funding sources.

This vacancy can also be filled as a Special Duty opportunity. For Special Duty Assignment interest, you must be a Career Service, Career Service Exempt or other regular (non-temporary) employee in King County who has completed their initial County probation. You must have supervisor approval prior to taking a Special Duty Assignment.

? Software Implementation Support: Assist in implementation of a new permitting and licensing environmental health software system, ensuring effective internal and external communication, user training, and change management.
? Training Program Development: Create comprehensive program-specific training materials to educate staff and customers on effectively utilizing new software, ensuring alignment with existing standard operating procedures and program workflows. Address training gaps not covered by the vendor's materials through the creation of additional training documents, including presentations and reference sheets.
? Training Delivery: Train staff before, during, and after software go-live to ensure a smooth transition. Track training progress for individual staff. Deliver trainings to customers.
? User Support: Act as the primary point of contact for staff members or customers seeking assistance with software-related issues or inquiries.
? Documentation and Reporting: Maintain training inventories for easy access by staff. Utilize reports and dashboards to identify and address data entry concerns and ensure accurate documentation in the system.
? Collaboration and Communication: Coordinate with program staff, King County Information Technology (KCIT), the Continuous Improvement Team, and software contractors to communicate about functionalities that need to be further developed or refined, or how to support quality assurance (Q/A)/ Quality Control (QC) activities.
? Equity and Social Justice Integration: Apply equity and social justice principles in all aspects of the work, ensuring that training materials and software solutions are accessible, inclusive, and culturally competent and meet the training needs of diverse staff.
? Continuous Improvement: Administer surveys to assess training effectiveness. Monitor and report training progress. Share staff feedback on software onboarding with program leads and collaborate on change management strategies for a successful software transition.
Required:
? Training experience: Proficient in creating and delivering training programs or presentations. Skilled in developing training strategies, written and visual guides, and identifying training needs and priorities. Ability to effectively train diverse audiences.
? Experience with new processes implementation: Demonstrated experience in implementing new processes/systems and strong willingness to learn new software applications and processes. Ability to support a successful software transition by proactively engaging with and motivating staff to learn new skills and adapt to change.
? Excellent relationship building skills: Effective communication and interpersonal skills, fostering strong connections with others, while embodying open-mindedness, kindness, and flexibility in all interactions.
? Valid Washington State Driver License and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
? Multitasking and prioritization abilities: Demonstrated capacity to effectively manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, prioritize work with competing deadlines, and thrive in high-pressure environments
? Organizational and project management skills: Proficient in coordinating and overseeing projects, including organizing and facilitating meetings, attention to detail, and utilizing project management tools to ensure successful project completion

Desired:
? Experience in environmental health, including but not limited to aspects on the natural and built environment that may affect human health, such as clean air, water, and food.
? Proficiency with management tools: Experience in using Microsoft Office 365 products such as Teams, OneNote, OneDrive, and SharePoint for daily tasks, including to develop and maintain lists, organize tasks, or keep track of project status.
? Environmental Health Science (EHS) certification or hands on experience: Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS) or Registered Sanitarian (RS) certification and/or field experience in Environmental Health
? Experience working towards supporting a team's transition to a new software or system

Work Schedule:
This position is Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm.

Work Location:
This position is located at the Chinook Building, 401 5th Ave, Seattle, WA 98204.

Some of the work associated with this position will be performed through teleworking and will report to office location and to meetings as needed. Travel to other work locations may be necessary. Employees will have access to shared workspaces at various King County facilities. Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.

Employees will be provided with a County issued laptop and must maintain a workspace with an internet connection where they can reliably perform work and remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours. To support employees during this time King County has a robust collection of tools and resources to support working remotely.
