About the position

The Associate Principal of Technology Operations is a critical role within the organization, primarily focused on ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of production operations across various platforms including Mainframe, Linux/Unix, Windows, Storage, and Network. This position requires a hands-on approach to monitoring and resolving incidents, as well as driving continuous improvement initiatives within the production environment. The individual will work closely with multiple teams such as Production Control, Production Support, Release Management, and others to ensure operational readiness and adherence to best practices. In this role, the Associate Principal will be responsible for first-level incident identification and resolution, employing techniques to address interruptions across the various platforms. The individual will monitor applications and systems, respond to alerts, and document any processing anomalies using approved software tools like Service Now or Remedy. Additionally, the role involves maintaining processing records, escalating incidents to second-level support when necessary, and performing Mainframe IPLs and other system commands as required. The position also entails supporting transmissions across SFTP/NDM, managing MQ channels, and troubleshooting scheduling jobs. The Associate Principal will provide support for production installs, disaster recovery, and industry tests, while also maintaining off-site storage records and shipments. The individual will be expected to rerun or restart failed backups and perform restores when necessary, ensuring that the production environment operates smoothly and efficiently. Furthermore, the role requires the individual to work scheduled overtime as needed to ensure 24/7 coverage and to drive continuous improvement within the team and the organization as a whole.

    Responsibilities
  • Employ first-level incident identification and resolution techniques to address interruptions across Mainframe, Linux/UNIX, Windows, Storage, and Network platforms.

  • Monitor and respond to applications/systems alerts across all platforms in accordance with Quality Standards and/or Security Policies.

  • Escalate Production Incidents to Second-Level support as required per policy to ensure a timely resolution.

  • Support the execution and troubleshooting of scheduling jobs.

    Requirements
  • Working knowledge of ITIL principles.

  • Understanding of Scheduling (UC4/Control-M).

  • Understanding of Network.

  • Understanding of Windows.
  • ,
  • Understanding of Storage.
  • ,
  • Understanding of Mainframe.

  • Understanding of MQ (stop/start/recycle).

  • Knowledge of Clearing and Finance industry.

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • ,
  • 5+ years of OS390 JCL and IBM utilities experience.
  • ,
  • 5+ years working in a multi-platform environment including Windows, Linux/Unix, and Storage.
  • ,
  • Strong network knowledge heavily favored.
  • ,
  • 5+ years working knowledge of an open systems scheduling product (UC4).
  • ,
  • 3+ years work knowledge of cloud environment.
  • ,
  • DevOps experience desired but not required.
