As a Government Finance Compliance Lead for Rolls-Royce, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with the Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and other relevant regulations. This position will require a deep understanding of cost accounting principles, government contracting, and financial reporting. - Understanding the requirements of US Department of Defence (DOD): Federal Acquisition Regulations, Defence Federal Acquisition Regulations and Cost Accounting Standards regulations.
- Conduct comprehensive reviews of government business systems and practices to ensure compliance with CAS and DFARS requirements.
- Identify and analyse potential non-compliance issues, assist in the preparation of audit responses, develop corrective action plans, and monitor implementation.
- Provide guidance and training to personnel on CAS requirements and best practices. Stay current with changes in CAS regulations and other relevant accounting standards.
- Work directly with Customer Representatives including Defence Contract Management Agency and Defence Contract Audit Agency.
- Gather and analyse data from SAP to support government audit requests; retrieve and reconcile supporting documentation to substantiate proposed or claimed costs on government contracts in an organized manner and maintaining support files.
- Ability to work with other departments with people with differing levels of experience and knowledge and communicate effectively while liaising with the Government auditors to clarify requests and explain processes/supporting documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business with 5+ years of experience in an accounting, business or finance role with a minimum of 2 years of experience in US Government audits and/or Cost Accounting experience, OR
- Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business with 3+ years of experience in an accounting, business or finance role with a minimum of 2 years of experience in US Government audits and/or Cost Accounting experience, OR
- JD/PhD in Accounting, Finance or Business
- In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be a U.S. Citizen
- A fundamental understanding of accounting principles and processes and be familiar with audit testing and substantiation requirements.
- Prior exposure to Government Cost Principles and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS): FAR and DFARS
- Advanced Microsoft Excel experience; knowledge of MS Word and PowerPoint
- Strong SAP experience
