Position Overview:
Blazer Jobs is hiring a remote, part-time American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter to support students in the Lincoln, NE area schools. This position requires interpreting services Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM, totaling approximately 10–12 hours per week. The interpreter will provide real-time communication access for students who are deaf or hard of hearing in a virtual educational setting.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver high-quality, remote ASL interpretation for students during scheduled virtual classroom instruction.
• Facilitate two-way communication between students, teachers, and peers.
• Adhere to confidentiality and professional standards in compliance with school policies and interpreting ethics.
• Coordinate with school staff to ensure support aligns with each student’s IEP or learning plan.
• Use virtual learning platforms and maintain reliable tech setup for seamless service delivery.
Requirements:
• EIPA score of 4.0 or higher – Required
• Passed the EIPA Written Assessment – Required
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Bachelor's Degree in ASL or Educational Interpreting
• Must hold an active SLI National Certification
• RID and NIC Certification required
• 2 years of Previous experience interpreting in K–12 settings
• Reliable internet connection and comfort using online learning platforms
